Client Feedback

What Lotus Wash System customers have to say:

PROFROHS LTD

I have had a working relationship with Lotus Wash and Graham Reiher since late 2006 as Toll Rail or Kiwi Rail as it is now known attempted to identify why the current Train Wash located at Westfield Auckland was not performing as expected.

During this time we have worked in a partnership with both Lotus wash and the Chemical supplier to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the wash process.

During this project I was impressed by their willingness to participate in regular meetings that used quality tools such as Root Cause Analysis and Ishikawa Diagrams to progressively identify individual issues and processes that were impacting on the Wash outcomes.

Lotus wash are currently maintaining the Westfield wash under an MOU that supplies weekly, monthly and yearly checks with electronic reporting.

I am sure that without Lotus Washes expertise on brush action ,spray pattern requirements for different asset shapes and sizes then Kiwi Rail would still be paying the asset operator a monthly penalty.

I would have no hesitation in recommending lotus Wash as a Supplier and Manufacturer of Train Wash Systems including supporting the installation after commissioning.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT SERVICES

Lotus Wash Systems lnternational Ltd installed a train wash at our Dry Creek railcar depot in 2010 and became fully operational February 2011. The purpose of the wash is to externally clean our railcar on a regular basis.

This is achieved by driving the railcars through the wash at a nominal speed of 2 kph the system has been configured to detect the two types of railcars we operate through a series of processes, water, detergent, brushes followed by water jets and a wax coating.

The Lotus Wash System International team performed detailed inspection of our railcars and came up with the most economical and environmental solutions for cleaning of our railcars, when we did have a minor issue with our drivers mirrors they worked closely with us to design and implement a fix. In the near future we will be introducing a new EMU to our fleet and I am looking forward to working with them to configure our wash to match the new profile.

Before the introduction of the Lotus Wash System our railcars where washed by hand every six weeks and never look clean with the implementation of the Lotus Wash they have never looked better and we have settled on a fortnightly wash cycle.

I'm happy to recommend the services of Lotus Wash Systems lnternational Ltd. lf you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

AGILITY

Just wanted to say that whist there are a few issues with the machine overall it has exceeded expectations.

I know Ops gets frustrated at times, but I certainly understand that it is a complex machine and a prototype and would always be subject to having to be massaged.

It has delivered exactly the results we were looking for. I do appreciate that we expect a lot out of the machine as it does run continuously.

Well done mate and, whist Im sure you wont ever need it, if you need a reference for you work over here Im always willing.

TRANZ RAIL - 1

In May 1994 we had installed on our site at Westfield Auckland a purpose built Lotus 4 Brush Train Wash machine.

The machine was successful in maintaining our Rolling Stock some of which include the Silver Fern Railcars ADK and ADL suburban multiple units in a clean condition on a trouble free basis, 12 months later we had the machine modified to incorporate the cleaning of our diesel locos.

This add-on proved to be very successful in cleaning exceptionally dirty locos by revolving brushes.

The machine incorporates a unique combination of both dilute and concentrate chemical sprays, special high density brushes and high and low pressure rinse-off sprays, giving excellent results on both stainless steel and painted rolling stock.

We now operate a clean fleet of cards and locomotives and I have no hesitation in recommending the Lotus Drive Thru Train Wash System to any interested party in terms of washing efficiency and reliability.

TRANZ RAIL - 2

In October 1996 I evaluated a Lotus four brush train wash machine installed at our Westfield Depot in Auckland.

The unit comprised of two vertical side brushes and 2 semi horizontal overhead brushes along with the necessary chemical washing and rinsing towers and auxiliary equipment.

We found that the two vertical side brushes of this machine was giving a much better result than our aging 6 brush machine in Wellington.

In March 1997 we had our Wellington machine modified to the Lotus four brush counter rotating vertically mounted design and congratulate Lotus for a machine which is performing up to expectations and has been trouble-free with a very low maintenance level.

TRANZ RAIL - 3

Tranz Rail Mechanical and Passenger Branches have had cause to purchase two rolling stock washing machines from Lotus Manufacturing Ltd of Auckland and wish to record our complete satisfaction with the performance of both machines.

In 1994 we installed a purpose built machine at our Westfield Locomotive Depot to clean the locomotive fleet based there and the urban carriage stock. Two years later we were delighted to discover that the machine could cope with the fleet of milk tankers, from the Taranaki area, cleaning them to meet the stringent hygiene requirements of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries. The cleaning wash at the start of the milk season was able to last the full six months.

The second machine was purchased in 1997 to clean the Wellington urban carriage fleet replacing a smaller and worn out machine from another source, and providing a far superior result. Both machines continue to provide sterling service. Only budget constraints have prevented our acquisition of a third machine for our Christchurch Depot.

On behalf of Tranz Rail I have no hesitation in recommending these purpose built machines for cleaning railway rolling stock.
